About

I provide technology, science, and education organizations with a combination of writing, editing, and research skills and work experience in the corporate, non-profit, and education sectors. I have:

  • Twenty years of experience in media and communications, including content production, research, communications planning and media relations, including six years as a self-employed freelance writer and communications consultant
  • The ability to write and edit a variety of communication materials, including newsletters & newsletter articles, bylined & feature articles, website copy, press releases, marketing collateral, blog posts and articles, FAQs, white papers, position papers, customer testimonials and case studies, business & marketing plans, and media alerts.
  • Previous experience in corporate PR and marketing, which means that I can bring other skills to your organization, such as the development and implementation of media relations and marketing communications programs.

With a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Journalism, I've written for as long as I can remember. Because of my journalism background, I'm a researcher at heart. One of my strengths is gathering information and sorting the wheat from the chaff. I specialize in creating engaging and approachable communications pieces from dry, confusing, or technical information.

I'm currently based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina--home of my two-time alma mater (and the reigning NCAA basketball champs), UNC-Chapel Hill. However, my clients are scattered across the country, from California to New England. A little bit of technology and a lot of self-discipline make it easy for me to work with your company, regardless of its location. I know you'll be satisfied with my work.
